Calling all students! On Friday April 21st, join the fight to end college hunger in Michigan. The Spartan Food Security Council—in partnership with Swipe Out Hunger—invites you to lobby for a statewide Hunger Free Campus Bill. Nationally, 1 in 3 college students experience food insecurity; at certain Michigan colleges and universities, this rate is even higher. By lifting our voices for institutional change, we can ensure that all students are equipped for success—in the classroom, workplace, and for the foreseeable future.

We ask that students in attendance wear formal attire. A light breakfast will be provided before legislator meetings, as well as a brief rundown of the day and expectations. After meetings have concluded, students will be transported back to campus for a lunch reception provided by Spartan Food Security Council and the Associated Students of Michigan State University.
